header design question... DC and Spoon
Wasn't Gaimpero also working on a MG-racing header? Status?
I'd love to see a listing of header options, best source/price, and a link to a before/after dyno gif.
Obviously, not all of that info exists, but if we can get most of it put together, I'll make sure it ends up in a FAQ.

WOW finally after well over a year DC finally got their header out! This guy at a local shop was like ohhhh I saw it I held it in my hands and its going to be WAY better than Mugen!
Well after well over a year I still love my Mugen headers and my decision to purchase them.
Hope that we can get some read dyno numbers to see if DC can actually come through with a decent header.

Urmil-
I can't believe you actually wrote that.
Mugen exhaust manifolds and exhausts are made in house at Mugen Co. Ltd.
DC does not make headers and exhausts for Mugen. DC had, in the past, copied, bend for bend and tube for tube, the Mugen Integra Type R header for their race team headers because it had been proven to DC that the Mugen design was the best. From what I can recall, their 4-1 race header/exhaust combo was almost a complete copy of the Realtime Racing-Mugen header/custom exhaust... Their current 4-1 header for the B series motors mix the Mugen header layout with their collector/mass production manufacturing process.
FYI, Grand Am Cup officials took the headers away from all Integra Type R racecars to "even out" the race field (like a BMW 2.8l inline six RWD sports car needs even more of an advantage over a 1.8l FWD hatchback). So, yes, King's been out there racing with the OEM cast manifold and a-pipe for much of this year...

If you saw the Mugen test bed you'd understand that their resources are well above your average tuning house/specialist.
They test the headers on the engine, in cells where the environment is totally under control (when we were there they were testing parts for the new integra type R engine, couldn't hear much of a sound from the outside!). It took them months to develop the S2K headers.
Their act will be tough to follow. I'm sure there are compromises, and they were clear that they went mostly for weight savings and midrange torque improvements. Other manufacturers may go for top end power, sacrificing other aspects.

the spoon is definately prettier, but I can't justify the cost at this time. I'd rather get a DC and coat it and still pay 1/3rd of what the Mugen/Spoon would run. yup, I realize no dyno #'s and yes, I realize that some header designs can bring a loss. but this is the gamble I'll be taking, which I think its not a bad gamble even if it is just a straight 'copy' of the mugen or even slightly different.
For the record on DC headers retail costs
Ceramic $407.00 retail
SS $509.00 retail
One time only G/B costs
Ceramic $340.00 G/B
SS $425.00 G/B
Spoon Sports retail
$1450.00
I do feel a power gain with the DC header, hopefully we can do a dyno soon.
