My header is coated. I went for the black finish rather than shiny because although not as pretty it is more efficient. And mine aren't your usual header.

The turbo sits right near the brake and clutch master cylinders and plumbing. But with the coating and heat shield they don't even get warm.

On a side note, J's offer the wrapping as an optional for their header.

Just spoke to Todd at jet hot. he`s quoting me $165 for internal nad external coating of the header. postage back to me will be $95 but aint worked out yet the cost of posting it out there yet. i`m sure it wont be cheap!

he did not recommend wrapping it at all but the he is trying to coat these things! its interesting that j`s racing have a wrapped header which is made of 304 grade stainless. tried reading the text on the page. can anyone translate it!

also does anyone know if the ricks header is made in the same factory as the j`s racing one as they look very similiar?

Don't wrap- coatihg is ok, Greenlight and Slalom have it right. I've seen too many headers(small block Chevys) with failed welds.

spoke to thermotec and they obviously said there was no problem with wrapping the header but then they would.

found a place in the uk that does internal/external coatings which is good news.

should i also get my T1R test pipe coated as well and also the cap/gasket that fits between the header and test pipe? or do you think coating the header is good enough?
