Default Headlight warning tone not working

hey guys, not exactly sure when this happened but i noticed it today

You know that warning tone when you leave your headlights on but turn off the car and prop open the door, mine has stopped working.

I also noticed when I unlock my car, there used to be a tone when pressing the button, that has stopped as well.

only thing i can think of is it was raining a shit ton here over the weekend and i drove through some pretty big puddles (enough to break my front lip protector and lip)

any ideas? any fuses?

I did do a search and someone mentioned a door jam switch but I pressed mine a few times and still no go.

Thanks

Its more than likely the door switch. Are your lights above the mirror turning on when set to "door" and the door is open? If not, that's your problem. A simple removal of the switch on the door jamb and cleaning of the contacts with steel wool or dremel brush will do the trick, just re-coat in dielectric grease to keep the contacts from corroding again. Sometimes both the switch for the door and the slider switch for the lights by the roof are both corroded and both will need to be addressed. I see this issue ALL the time. If you have to take apart your header slider switch, be very careful and note how it goes together as there are multiple springs and small metal balls and contacts that have to go back in the same way they were removed. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.

I'll take apart the switch and clean it.

However my lights do turn on when the door is opened. I did have an issue with the lights when I first bought the car and I took them apart to clean it.

But I'll give it a try!

I had the same problem,Honda told me that this was a blown fuse and it would cost 125 bucks. Then i recently brought my car to Billman250 in long island and it turns out it was the switch. This is apparently a common S2k problem.

By any chance is your clock working? I've had the same issues for years, after installing an amp to my aftermarket deck...I'm assuming something behind the radio.

My clock is working

I'm sure it's the door switch now because I was flickering it a bunch of times and it started to work now. Will clean it this weekend
