Default HEAT FROM E-BRAKE

so while i was driving i notice some heat coming from the open areas of the e-brake. i put my hand on it and its warm/hot. sometimes my armrest is warm/hot as well.

anyone know what the problem is or what needs to be done. transmission fluid or what. i dont know

i bought the car in early july of this year. its a 2001 s2000 bought with under 5k miles... with that said it was hardly driven.. most of the miles bought were showroom.

It's prolly heat transfering from the transmission, and or engine from just underneath. It's totally normal.

i was thinking buy a snorkel to bring in more cooler air except for the stock bringing in the air under the hood.

That won't stop the hot air coming in through the hand brake area. The heat is coming from your transmission and since there's very little insulation there, the heat will continue. The heat is normal. Just blast the AC.

The interior of the car has a lot of hot spots, most of them are from the transmission hump.
the funniest is the cupholder.
I've put in ice cold sodas that turn hot by the time I finish them.
I have a travel clock with ambient temp gauge thats shown around 120 degrees in the cupholder while driving.

Too bad I don't drink coffee.

That's all I ever have in it. anytime of day. My favorite feature of the car by far.
