Help with axles install
Anyone have any advise for me? Also, I bought axles from the driveshaft shop and they are a little different than the stock ones. Where the differential and axles bolt together their is a metal rod in between the two, kinda like on a strut, on the stock ones. The new ones have a closed end with no rod pushing out. Anyone know why? Thanks for your time
not sure why the custom ones are like that. will it make any different, i'm not sure. are the shafts that go into the differential hollow in the center? if they are, could fluid leak out? if they are solid in the center, i don't think you'll have any problems.

The fact that the OEM shafts uses a centering pin, means that this is critical. When you put all the bolts in, you will notice that there is still a considerable amount of movement between the two flanges. If you tighten those nuts and bolts down without regard to centering and mating the flanges just so, I can see where you could get a harmonic vibration at certain speeds.
Don't sweat it! I have those axles and they rock some ass bigtime. They rock like Elvis in the shower. Just bolt those babies up and remember that your diff is going to explode. And your car is going to sit and not run for ages. And then you'll start hallucinating about Nissan and their magic diff powers...

Those are most likely "centering" shafts to hold the flange in the proper position when bolting it to the output shafts. No fluid comes out the center of the output shaft, so that rod doesn't act as a plug.
