Default HELP Check engine light

I recently bought my S2000. The check engine light came on but it wasn't until I got it into vtec. The honda dealership ran a diagnostic and they told me it was one of the aftermarket parts installed causing the light. It said it had misfires on all the cylinders?! Could it be the apexi air/fuel controller not being set right that is messing with the computer. The check engine light is off again but they said it will come back on if I get the rpms high enough. PLEASE help me out. Thanks The car runs awesome and the dealer said it will be fine but the light will probably stay on all the time. That just bugs the crap out of me. I hope it is something I can fix with the VAC controller.

Any #of things can be screwed up from a crappy VAFC install. there are many causes of misfires, I don't see how you can say the car runs "awesome" when it's misfiring.

Most dealers aren't going to touch a car with a VAFC stuck on it and a driveability problem.

There are too many possibilities what may be wrong with your car to narrow them down given the information provided.

I agree with Slows2k.

1. list all the mods in your car.
2. find out exact code you were getting.

these 2 are good starting point for diagnosing.

first step. trying removing the VAFC. then make sure your connections are good and see if you get the CEL again

I have the dual hks hi power exhaust, AEM cold air intake, and VAFC thats it. I have eibach springs but that is all for engine. Any way of narrowing it down now? I would really appreciate any help.

yes the code is P0301 P0302 P0304 P0304 P1259 P0172 P0139 Also said that the vtec is having a code come back too. The dealer says it is the aftermarket parts. He also says that the car will be fine but I will have the light on. Is there anyway to disable the VAFC to go back to regular settings to see if that is the cause? I don't want to spend a ton of money on it because I just spent a lot buying the car you know! Please help out thanks.

The VAFC can cause the P1259, P0139, P0172, and possibly all the misfire DTC's.

Do Yourself a favor and remove the VAFC. It will be almost free to take it out.

Thank you very much for your reply and input. Is there anyway to adjust the VAFC and keep the check engine light from coming on? If not how do I remove the VAFC without screwing things up. Can I just unplug it or something?! It is in the glove box right now.

if you are using harness, just unplug it and replug it directly to ECU. simple. if you don't use harness... it's little more difficult...
