uhmm, I'm not so sure that is a check engine code. usually you'd interface into an ODBII application or handheld unit to find out the code. correct?

you might want to try checking the FAQ section (above at the top of the screen) and reset the check engine light. if it comes back, then there is something more than just a fluke reading, if it goes away, just watch for it for the next few days.

If the Check Engine light stays constantly lit, then the problem is no big deal. But when it flashes, that usually means the car is running really bad. Not good!

My cousin accidently shifted from 3rd to 2nd while racing, and a few seconds after he finished, the light came on flashing, and the car idled really rough!

Pappy - and a few grand later he got a new valve train, right? Sounds like your cousin bent some valves.

Sorry for the possibly dumb question but... Are you sure you're not looking at the Maintenance Required light? How many miles on the car?

It just so happens that I have a '01 shop manual handy...

And if you counted correctly Code 6 is...ECT- Engine Coolant Temp. Senor Cct. either high or low Input

Code 5 MAP (Manifold Absolute Press. Sensor Signal either High or Lower than expected
Code 7 TP - Throttle Position Sensor either high or low input

Its probably best to try and reset the system b4 any further troubleshooting! You never know it could be just a glitch.

To reset, Turn the Ign switch off and remove the No. 25 BACK UP FUSE (7.5A) from the under dash fuse box for 10 sec.
