ok so its about that time to change the motor oil and i figured i should change the tranny and diff fluid too since idk when they were changed last. ive already gone with amsoil 10w-30 with oem filter for my choice of oil, but im still not sure whats best but ive heard a lot of good about amsoil. so suggestions, opinions or personal experiences on motor oil choices PLEASE!

for tranny fluid i was thinking about going with honda mtf "type 2" but im not sure where to get it and what the part number is. i've heard a lot of good things about it, but i'm still not sure on whats best because i've heard a lot of good things about amsoil and redline too. so suggestions, opinions or personal experiences on tranny fluid choices PLEASE!

for diff fluid i was thinking about going with amsoil 70W-90 or 70W-110, redline, LE, and, Mobil 1. because i've heard a lot of good things about these 2 types of diff fluid. but again i'm not sure on whats best. so suggestions, opinions or personal experiences on diff fluid choices PLEASE!

By the way my AP2 is my DD and average about 1000 miles every month and i live in Florida so it never gets super cold but it does get really hot in the summer time.

i did a complete fuild change once i got the car,
for motor i used mobile one,
-just cause its so big and i know what im putting in will hold up and the s loves to eat it up!

tranny is gm synchronmesh
-only thing i will ever put for tranny, its huge and for me the only way to go, but at like 23 dollars a quart it isnt cheap, but i know it will protect and lube everything up. (can be found at napa)

for rear diff. i use amsoil 70W-90
its pretty cheap and it seems to be working well, but its really stinky D:
wear gloves and pump it on a warm day.
i did it on a cold day and it was soo hard to pump it up...

I would keep the Amsoil in the engine, my S doesnt burn any.

MTF 2 is good in the trans, get it at a Honda dealership. Amsoil, GM and Redline are also good choices.

For the diff I like Amsoil 75W-110 or LE.

 

I personally like to use stuff I can find at any auto store.

MTF2 (green bottle) at any local honda and mobil 70w-90 for diff for me.

 

I personally use gm synchromesh for the trans. All my honda's have loved it so the s was next for it and im very pleased.

For the diff im using Mobil 70w-90. I have used the amsoil in my 240sx with good results but figured id try the mobil one and im very satisfied so far.

 

not to thread jack but, how often should we change the power steering fluid
? how do we even do that? how much does it need volume wise?
