Default HELP! Having engine idling problems!

Ok this doesnt make sense to me but here it goes. Friday night I raced a SRT-4 Neon up to the end of 4th gear(it was boosting 19psi, and i got my ass handed btw), then I came back parked the car and shut it off. I then let it sit for 30 minutes and I went out again.

When I started the car up the car began to idle very badly. The engine began to cam like a Ford V8. Idle was very rough, and then the check engine light came on and began to flash. Once i started moving the light would go solid on and stop blinking. Everytime Id come to a stop the engine would start the rough idle and the light would flash. The engine runs like normal as long as Im giving it gas above 2000rpms. Once I let off the problems begin.

My first instincts told me it was the ZEX Plugs i put it recently, and since i didnt install the nitrous yet my plugs fouled. So I took out the ZEX Plugs and they were very black. I replaced them with the factory plugs. I reset the computer and started the car again and the problem began right away once again.

Second idea was to unplug the V-AFC. So I did that and reset the computer and it still had the very rough idle and after revving and letting off the car felt like it was going to stall. I also noticed a new smell in the air while my car was running like this. I checked all my hoses, eveyrthing is tight and in proper working order.

What should I do? What could be the problem, Im thinking about taking it to honda tommorow but I wonder if its something that can be fixed fast or will take a week or two. Id apreciate responses to this because honestly im baffled.

Thanks,

Eddy.

How many miles are on your car? and do you have the tools to do a compression test? Do you race often? Did you at anytime mis-shift?

What color is the exhaust smoke. Check your oil for coolant, clearly oil and water don't mix so you'll notice the coolant in the oil right away.

I would go to an Autozone to have them pull your ECU diagnostic codes as soon as possible. You can take it to the Honda dealer, but if it is your fault, it would probably be better to know about it before taking it to Honda.

I have never mis-shifted, my car has 17,300 miles on it, and it is a 2001 model. I don't have the tools to do a compression test, and no i do not race that often but i do drive my car how i think it was intended to be driven a few times a week. I have no color in my exhaust smoke either, it just smells funny. How would coolant get into my oil? Could it be my AEM?

If you have a leak in the head gasket the coolant would mix with the oil.
How did you reset the ECU?

I reset by pulling the "back-up" fuse for about a minute each time. The thing is this occured right after i raced the neon and its not like i did anything wrong. I hit up to about mid 4th gear and slowed down then drove normally all the way back home. Once i shut it off and turned it back on it went wack! Could it be computer related? Im thinking it might be that my V-AFC was running to lean and it messed up a fuel injector.

Ok just tried that and it is still running the same....any other suggestions or ideas of what it might be? Could I have fouled a fuel injector by running to lean?

It definately smells fuel oriented, but I can't really distinguish the smell. It smells completely new to me, but I can smell a bit of fuel as if it were running rich.
