take out the two bolts that hold the upper control arm to the body, should drop right out after that

You can use the adjusting collar to compress the springs since they are coilovers. Will just take some time.

Does any one know if there is supposed to be a rubber bushing under the top hats?? In this install review https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=259346
it doesn't really show if it's supposed to be underneath. His step says "Assemble the KW damper like this, the large black washer from the stock shock goes on the end of the shaft." then his next step is here is the completed assembly. is there a rubber bushing under that. thanks for any help!!!!!

There is a rubber insulator under the stock top hat.

The rubber is only above the washer. It more or less cushions the top of the spring on the metal hat. It'll be ok to put the old ones back in.

The purple things are supposed to "center" the spring inside of the top hat. I won't comment on them being important or not, but there are kits that don't include that part.
