Default Help! Installing MUZ Xbrace!!!

Hi,

I am currently trying to install the MUZ XBrace.

Jacked the car with floor jack at the center jack point. Obviously you need to remove the floor jack to install the MUZ Whiteline brace.

Since the XBrace covers the center jack point, how do you raise and lower the car from this point forward.

Working on the car right now, please respond ASAP.

Thanks,
Flee

use jack stands, and place them on the frame - just to the aft of the front wheels.

I don't recall that Muz's X-Brace covers, or otherwise interferes with, the use of the front center jack point. Are you sure you're placing the jack correctly?

My understanding (limitted) is that the Muz brace does prevent the future use of the front, center jack point. I think you will just have to jack the front of the car like most other cars ... from behind the front wheels. I haven't ever been able to get my jack under the front, center jack point anyway, so I've never considered this to be much of a weakness of the Muz brace (compared to the oil change convenience).

hmm, after I installed the muz brace, I lowered the car off the jackstands the same way I raised it, using the front-center jack point. Maybe I was using the wrong jack point!

The muz brace covers part of the jack point.
Just use the fron't portion of this point for jacking.
Make sure that you have a backup supporting structure eg 2 side jacks before you crawl under the car.....unless you are really thin

Ayup,

MUZ XBrace covers up the back portion of the front jack point. We were able to use the front portion of the front jack point to lower the car.

So now I can only use the front portion of the font jack point to raise car up using a floor jack. Flee

Thanks all,
