So this is something I could do on my own, if thats the case? Any thoughts if this is having a detrimental effect on the car right now? I absolutely want to fix it, but finding the time is the problem.

Thanks for the help guys!
Why would you? Isn't it under warranty?

Yeah, thats a good question, would it be under warrenty?

While at a dealership I asked them to take a look at it, but they didn't hear anything. My guess is it'd be a fight with them for something like this..

Have you tried running the engine with the hood up and blipping the throttle body? That should make it easy enough for them to hear...Even if they have selective hearing...

For the cost, ease of install, and time/effort wasted trying to convince the dealer what the problem is, I would just bite it and DIY.

14510-PCX-005 is the tensioner assy part number. You can bet you'll get something different if you don't give them this number.

I will do a DIY post when I have a lil free time.
good lookin out

I have the same ticking noise explained. I will try to record the noise so some of you can diagnose the problem for us.

At first i thought it was an exhaust leak, but i'm having doubts after this post.

I changed an autotensioner on my prelude, which made a rattling sound around 3.5k rpm. Why does the S make this noise throughout the rpm band with this same problem???

Wow! I've recently encountered this noise too and brought it up on the other Timing Chain thread. Maybe this is what's going on with my car.

It almost sounds like a worn clutch throw out bearing noise. Unfortunately, stepping on the clutch doesn't make the noise go away this time.

The noise isn't constant and is only noticeable under certain RPM ranges.

Makes one wonder if Honda has an issue with all of us getting the same problem (although it's not confirmed).

So the next question is where do we get the parts and is it really that easy to fix?

I'd give HardTopGuy a PM for a price quote.
