my stock cats bolt broke. what am I suppose to do? what are my options. I'm look for another highflow cat, but I just cant seem to find one. Would it be ok to just bolt on 2 and leave the other one broken. Need your help. Thanks guys

Disconnect the exhaust from where it's broken and pound out the broken stud. Go to the dealer and buy a new one and put it back together.

 

Take it to the VET asap.!!!!! jk. If I remember there is a site that sells the S2000 high flow cats for a good price but its in my favorites at home. I will get back to you with the link when I get home.

The easiest way would be to remove the broken stud (extractor, drill, torch, etc.) and replace it with a similar piece from, say... Home Depot.

Be careful when you mess with cats. The EPA will get you, and get you hard. Like $10,000 hard.

The stock cat will run you about $600.00. The bolt, on the other hand will run you about 7 bucks. If the stock one is undamaged, why do you need a new one? But if you must get a new one, I think an aftermarket cat will be cheaper. Keep in mind that the stock cat is already a high flow one.

 

the bolt that broke off was connected to the cat. I think they only way I can fix it is if I weld it back on to the cat. Do you think it'll be that much of a problem I i just conect only 2 of the bolts?

 

The bolts are just pressed into the rear flange. As xviper mentioned, you can just hammer them out. I broke / stripped all of my rear cat bolts, so I just hammered them out and replaced all 3 with regular bolts, spring washers, and nuts.
