Default help! oil run low..

I have a 00 model s2000 that's done 63k and was last serviced at honda dealership 4 months ago, where oil change was carried out.

Checked my oil about 3 weeks ago and have done a few hundred miles since then. it was quite low but ok but cos is due a service in 300 miles so thought i'd wait for oil change at service and continue using.

the other day started making a noise, like a clattering sound. Took it into garage and they said lots of things wrong - new cylinder head and various other bits and bobs - total price

If the dealer saw it with low oil, you are probably hosed.

Good luck and next time top it off when you see it is low. A bottle of oil is cheap compared to what you are faced with now.

Bad decision......... You saved the $ 2.50 and wasted $ 4,000. Oil is like blood , Gee it's only a small gash maybe I will be fine , no need for Stiches.... Cheers

I'd check your receipt and see how much was put in in the first place. I'll bet it was 4 or 5 qts, needs 6.

Most dealers think 4 cyl, 4 qts.

Good point bro.

There's no need to wait, and it's not recommended. If it needs a quart, add it. If it needs a 1/4 quart, add it.
