They did do a valve adjustment on the same service, but i'm not sure if they did another compression test afterwards. The car does run fine right now.

Based on the responses, it sounds like the the car should be fine for longterm daily driving-- something the guy at the shop alluded to, but would not say with absolute confidence (which I understand of course). Thanks fellas for hollerin back and reassuring the situation.

 

I'd definitely keep driving the car. If the issue is in the bottom end, then you'll have a more extensive repair when the time comes. Personally, if it were my car, I'd start buying parts for an engine rebuild and turbo kit now, a piece at a time as you can afford it. Once you've got your parts, buy a short block and have your engine built. Throw it all in over the course of a week and have a brand new turbocharged engine

With variations like that, the current engine should last quite a bit.
