Default Help: Stripped Cat Bolt & Nut

In the process of installing my Spoon N1 exhaust, I stripped the upper cat bolt end and the nut. The nut is easy enough to replace, but the bolt is part of the cat. Based on the pictures of the damage, I'd appreciate feedback on the best way to proceed.

Thanks in advance.

Smack the bolt with a hammer on the damaged end. It will come out of the convertor. Replace with a new nut and bolt, you're done.

Thanks for the replies. I'm assuming I need to drop the whole cat to hammer the bolt out and the new one back in, right?

Time to check my local parts departments

That was pretty easy. I left the cat on the car. I used a regular hammer to knock the bolt off and the butt end of a pickel fork (ball joint separator) to knock the bolt back into place. Torquing the nut pulled it all the way in to place. Thanks again for the help

The bolt was over $10 after tax
