Helppp car won't start!
I have a ap1 2002 with 90,xxx miles. My car crank and crank but it won't turn over. One day it will be working perfectly and then the next day it won't start. At first I thought it was the kill switch and it didn't fix the problem when i got it removed. since then i have changed the battery, alternator, starter, and still nothing it won't start! some things that i have noticed is that like yesterday when it did start it cranked a couple times and then it finally started, and it was at high rev like 2,000 rmps and then as the car heated up the rpms would go to normal idle. any suggestions!! please help!
It is my understanding that cranking and the motor "turning over" are the same thing, or am I just crazy?
By not turning over, do you mean it won't actually start up?
I would suspect spark plugs/coil packs or fuel injectors. Pull the spark plugs and inspect them.
As for the high rpms, that is normal. With a colder temp engine and cold air entering, the pcm sprays the injectors longer to make up for the dense air.
EDIT: I noticed you are at 90k miles. Spark plugs are recommended to be changed at 100k, so they probably haven't been done yet Im assuming. I would be considering changing them soon anyway if I was you.

i had the same problem. i would have to crank the car over and over again to get it started and sometimes it wont even start. i would have to change the plugs and the car would start up fine but after a couple days the same thing happen again. after months of changing plugs every week i finally found the problem. i had a leaking head gasket causing coolant to get into the combustion camber. changing to a stock head gasket fixed everything. do you have an aftermarket head gasket? maybe try doing a leak down test and pressure test. hope everything works out for you. i was battling this problem for months.
