Default HID Problems

I just found out my driver's side HID is not functioning and hopefully will have it fixed under warranty. Reading a few posts on here re the HID units and how they function it would seem the problem is not likely to be a blown bulb as the design does not feature a filament. The guy who looks after my S2000 said it is not unusual for the amplifier/inverter to go unserviceable. I wonder how may s2ki forum members have had this problem. My warranty runs out in September so next time this happens it wll not be paid for by Honda.

my right side HID woulde go off every once in a while. I just turn off the light and turn them on again. I also though it was the inverter. The blub finally when out after a few months. It was replaced under warrenty.

They quoted me $335 New Zealand dollars for the bulb and were making noises that it might not be under warranty to replace the bulb. It is not like it is a $5 item that has blown it's filament.
