Default High-Pitch Whistle

I've been noticing a very softer high-pitched whistle that seems to accompany the transmission, especially when I'm accelerating and up-shifting. I don't remember exactly when it started, but I'm conscious of it and hear it almost every time I drive the car.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be coming from and if it indicates something wrong?

If you have an intake, that's more than likely what it is..

Happens even with stock intake.

OP- Look up Honda Whistle....very common and nothing to go crazy over. Mine has done it for over 3 years now...even after a full teardown and rebuild the sound never went away. Basically it's just how the air is passing through your throttle body. Nothing to worry about.

Very very common.

Even though there is no problem, one day someone will come up with a fix. I'd imagine lots of thinking, then 5 minutes worth of work.

The car is pretty much stock. No changes to the engine or any connected parts, only an upgraded audio system. I notice it because it wasn't there for the first three years of ownership and I wondered what was causing it.

Thanks for answering my questions. I'll drive a little more confidently now, knowing that it isn't a catastrophe waiting to happen.

I have had this whining sound from my transmission/diff area during acceleration for the past 45-50,000 miles. Cant figure out what it is...

I get the whine too and also just changed my diff fluid, it made no difference. I've come to the realization that this car just makes lots of strange noises sometimes, but that it's normal.
