Default High temp urea grease?

I'm replacing my clutch master and slave cylinders tomorrow so I thought I'd take a look at the Service Manual. I found out that I should "Apply super high temp urea grease to the tip of the slave cylinder." What the heck is that? Do I have that in my garage, just under a different name?

IT does not just there it is also applied to the thowout bearing. It is a stocked item at your local Honda dealer. It will last you a long time and it comes in a small plastic jar. It is fairly cheap too IIRC.

It is a polyurea thickened grease and typically contains EP/anti-wear additives like moly. It isn't special and is used industry wide.

If you have a NAPA near by, the sell a CV joint grease which is close to the same thing.

Do yourself a favor and just get the Honda Super High Temp Urea grease and accept no substitute. Learn from my mistake. I used some regular high temp synthetic grease when I did my first clutch change out and ended up having to pull the tranny again within 10,000 miles to replace the release bearing and the release bearing guide after the grease had dried up causing the release bearing to drag on the guide, ruining both. Clutching in and out became hard/sticky and transmission shifting got notchy were the symptoms.

I just wanted to add what I discovered yesterday. None of the dealers in the area had Honda Urea Super High Temp grease in stock. So I called up Lucas Oil and they said their Xtra-Heavy Duty grease is a polyurea based and has a drop temp of 540 degrees.

My link

I bought some at Napa Auto Parts for 7.99 a tube. I just did a clutch job, so used this everywhere Honda suggested their lube.

Lucas seems like a sketchy brand to me.

i got some urea grease to put on the slave cylinder tip and the clutch fork. Given that the car was hot, its tough to put the grease on the parts. So I'm assuming you have to do it when its cold? Probably a lame questions
