Hit a curb avoiding a crash. Help

No where near 2k in damage.. I had a similar incident where I hit a guardrail with the right rear corner at about 50 mph (glancing blow) resulting in me spinning 360 degrees about 5-6 times and stopping on the other side of the road (mountain pass, no houses for miles). I bent my spindle and trashed that wheel. A new wheel ($600), 2 rear tires ($250ish), a spindle/alignment ($100) and painted AP2 bumper ($650) put me at $1,600. I paid out of pocket so my collision premium wouldn't increase. I could've gotten the whole right rear assy. for $250 but only needed the spindle.

You're looking at maybe $350, give or take 100. You may not need anything more than an alignment; Try that first.

What I don't understand is how its ALWAYS THE RIGHT REAR that gets smashed on these cars constantly. Curse? ? lol

Ap1 during the crash i had to choose between smashing the front or the rear passenger side..

$1500-$2000??

lol my s2k's left rear was Yanked off, literally.I replaced everything on that side and it only cost me $800, used Parts. Where do people get these ridiculous prices from??

After fixing both...i might have picked the front. I replaced the drivers side door and fender on my car (salvage auction) for about half what its costing to get the passenger rear quarter cut and welded and repainted, and the guy doing the body work on the rear is a friend. Fenders can be swapped with a socket wrench, the rear quarter, if youd really wrecked it, is a cut and weld job. Im happy for you that the only cosmetic damage was the wheel.

Im kind of a noob but if none of the suspension parts are broken cant they just put the new wheel on and align it?

Also, where are you located, theres a guy up in Rancho Cordova California with basically an S2000 boneyard, if you dont mind used parts, hes the way to go.

I think if thats the case we should be happy, theres more important things to get messed up on the left.

Almost as if you should have let him hit you instead of this, his insurance would have paid for it instead of it coming out of your own pocket .

The donut on the rear will DESTROY your differential. You just need a new wheel, control arms, and alignment.

Because it is our natural instincts to save ourselves, which means putting the passenger side to the curb.

This isn't redicoulous if you get a shop to do it for you. Lots of people don't have the time to do their own work. With labor included, that's a fair price when you factor in new OEM equirtment. If you can do it yourself, you save money. To the other guy who ripped on my estimate, you paid what I basically quoted. And this is just from looking at what I see.

it would have cost me $400 if had done it myself, but you see im too lazy so it cost 400 more labor/towing/alignment
