Default HKS exhaust getting softer?

I've had my HKS exhaust for about a year now and recently I've noticed that it is not as loud as before. I did a quick inspection of the bolts and everything seems to be on tight. Maybe it's the Texas heat? I also have an AEM CAI ~ not sure if a dirty filter has anything to do with it.

Thanks in advance.

Did you notice a power loss when you combined the CAI and exhaust?? I'm looking into getting a dual system and the only thing thats holding me back right now are the stories that I've heard of people loosing power when t hey have a CAI and then add a dual exhaust. I'm not sure if the same is true for a single outlet system.

Usually an exhaust tends to get louder as it ages. But who knows?

Carbon and soot build-up tend to mellow the tone a little .....

Wierd. Can't speak for the HKS on the S2K, but the HKS Hiper that I had on my GSR got loud as hell so I got rid of it.

I think JDM has it.. Its getting louder AND you're getting DEAFER!! hehe.

SEV,

I sold the EMS and everything else on the car because I was going to sell it. I have so many toys as it is and the S is the slowest by far. I was getting tired of that. Anyways, my wife convinced me to keep it. I kept the Toda Cams and bought new Spoon stuff to replace the parts I sold. I decided this time to go with the Vafc instead of the EMS. My main reason for doing that was because I am going to wait for the Power FC to come out. I have that system on my other two cars and have had great success with it. I think that once it's available for the S in the UDM, I will make more power with it than I did with the EMS.

For the record though, I hit 224.7 with the old setup and the EMS. I added the Toda cams and hit 237.6 rwhp. Not bad for N/A.
