Default HOnda HYpoid Gear Oil 75W-85 GL-5 for differential

Honda is now carrying Honda Hypoid Gear Oil 75W-85 GL-5. I know the car recommends 90W. Any used this before? How does it compare to Mobil 1 75W-90 gear oil?? Thoughts?

Eh probably ok, but I wouldn't use it. Consensus weight to use is moving higher. 75w110 for temperate conditions, or 75w140 for hot/severe conditions.

WTF do you think this is a 24/7 support hotline!

Get Amsoil 75w-110 sever gear lube

Mobil makes a 75w-110 I believe that's off the shelf

Motul has a good product

I run Amsoil 75w110. Not too thick. Oil analysis and usage experience on these Amsoil w110 and w140 oils show they work very well.

75w90 is about as low as I would go, so 75w85 is going in the wrong direction even though it is a small difference.

Best fluid/viscosity I've found is LE1605 which is an SAE110, great for 3 season weather, I would not run it in winter conditions though. 75w110 and 75w140 are good choices, in Amsoil or Motul
