Default hondata gasket and Mugen cooling mods compatibility

Given that there is colder, more oxygen dense air reaching the motor from the intake plenum, wouldn't the motor run hotter? In that case, would the Mugen cooling mods work to keep the motor temps down if the hondata gasket makes the motor temps rise?

I hope that makes sense...

Marucci ran these, give him a PM. As far as I know, there isn't a problem.

I posted a thread about the Hondata gasket increasing engine temps over a year ago. UL stressed that it would not have a significant effect, and my temp tests showed the same. That said, I do have the Mugen cooling mods, and they do an excellent job. Actually, they may do too well of a job, since I run only 2 bars on the highway even on hot days.

On another note, I think colder plugs combined with the gasket and cooling mods make for a great combination. I never notice the least bit of power loss due to heat.

Gernby,
I thought there was a vtec cutoff that would stall the car if you tried to vtec before the temp reached 3 bars. Marucci said you drive the car like you stole it , so I assuming that the vtec is fine with 2 bars.

I haven't tried NGK Iridiums, but I'm very happy with my Densos (IK24).

VTEC will not engage if the coolant temp is too low, but that temperature is somewhere between 1 bar and 3 bars. When I'm on the highway at 2 bars, I don't know if I will be able to VTEC or not. It really sucks on the track, since I can't VTEC with confidence during the 1st 4 laps. I may have a problem with my coolant temp sensor reading too cold...

My experience during warmup with the Spoon t-stat and switch is that it is somewhere during 2 bars, right after the second one pops up but well before that 3rd one lights.
