Default Hood Damper

Bought these ebay hood dampers, think they are called sokie, and tried to install them. They worked pretty good at keeping the hood up and going down but when closing the hood, it was a bit lifted as if both sides were hitting something while they were closing. Is there a fix for this? I followd the instructions on how to install them and it seemed pretty straight foward.

If anyone has any pics of their current setup(close up pics of the hood connection) I would appreciate it.

Thanks for any info.

I have the Tein hood dampers and they hit nothing. They work really well. Maybe I can get a pic for you.

Any pic would do if you can. I mean it seems pretty easy to install and I even saw the pics from the listing on ebay. Does this look like how yours is mounted? link below.

The only thing this kit didnt come with was the bolts for the hood. I just used the ones I already had.

I'm sure you are fine with OEM bolts. I had to use little longer ones on hood(NRG). Did it came with washer? I've read somewhere that shouldn't use washer with some damper but not sure, maybe u can try?

It came with everything except the longer bolts. My oem's ones barey fit but couldnt use any washers. I emailed the seller to see if others have had issues or maybe those bolts are needed since it angles the damper more with the washer.

These parts hit because the damper bracket has only one bolt holding it in place. The bolt loosens, the bracket rotates, and the ball socket starts to dig into the fenders.

We make a damper kit with a bracket that works properly.

Check it out:

Thanks for the pics. I read in anothe post about having to get some bolts (longer) for this kit to work properly. Got them at lunch and it seems to be working properly now.

how do you close your hood with dampers? I have to drop mine at a pretty decent height for it to close
