Default Hot shifter

Drove for about 2 hours. Parked the car for an hour. Got in and the shifter was pretty hot - should I be worried or normal ?

Not enough information.

Was the car sitting in the sun? It get's hot pretty quickly in the sun, that added with any heat from the direct link tranny and it should be nothing to worry about.

Also, welcome to s2ki!

Pretty normal IMO. Funny thing is that if you get back in and drive for a short while it cools down pretty quick (air flow).

i have that problem everyday with the skunk 2 counter weighted shiftknob, i couldnt even put my palm on the knob for seconds, so just go buy an Oakley sunglass case and put it over he knob cant feel the heat at all and it'll block it out

Was garaged. I guess it's the engine/tranny heat transferring to the metal knob. Thanks for clarifying.
