Default How Bad Is This Damage ?

Yesterday while driving I hit a nice size rock that was unavoidable .. instantly their was the loudest boom and a streak of oil about 50yds . As soon as it happened within milliseconds I put the car in neutral got to the side of the road and cut it off . All within that 5-7 second time frame car ran fine no low oil light etc while waiting to be towed as you’d expect their was a big puddle of engine oil .. I assumed it was the oil pan and actually pray it is .. after the incident I got towed home I’ve reachef out to my insurance . Whatever damage it is will be taking care of . What I need you guys help for is to analyze this video I have to determine if the damage is indeed the oil pan and if so I’d like to know so I can actually reverse this claim and probably repair myself . I have no way of lifting and getting under her car being it can’t move .. here is some shots of a shotty video I was able to capture let me know what you guys think

Upload it on youtube and post the link here.
If you don't have an account I think vimeo or imgur works without registering.

Hard to tell from the zoomed in and fast movement.
Oil pan looked dry and the damage on the frame is further back near the tranny, so maybe that is were all the oil came from.
Have you checked the dip stick?

After it happened I swiped up some of the oil from the trail and puddle and it definetly was oil from the engine being I had just changed it that morning was fresh Mobil one . Also I’m not sure if this means anything . After , with the car off and clutch engaged I was still able to shift through gears with no sort of interference . But I did not check the dip stick I just assumed it would be dry being the amount of oil on the road and assuming all I did was smash the oil pan . I know the video is not much but all I could get with my phone attached to a stick being I can’t get the car up . I’ll try to provide a better video when I get home

Of course, do not start it. Fix the pan, put oil in it.

Based on your description, chances are high that there is no internal engine damage at all.

Its the starvation at speed/load that kill engines.

Yeah as soon as I hit the rock I instantly just put it in neutral and pulled over and cut the engine , inbetween that time frame the car ran fine no engine or oil light . I still may get this fixed through insurance in case their is any subframe damage etc that way if problems should arise in the future it’d be warranted . Also I’ll probably need a new bumper and lip. Anyways thanks , feel a lot better about it

The damage around 40sec mark is the transmission mount and its mounting portion on the chassis.

Try using the cars jack and lifting the car up, then take pictures and post them here. I can't tell much from your video.
