How the hell do you remove the centre console carpet???
I wasn't sure where to post this so if I'm in the wrong place feel free to move it.
After doing a search & looking on Ricks site I'm non the wiser?!?!
I've got everyting else out except this piece
I was going to cut it off with a stanley blade but then I still wouldn't know how to fit my new one in its place, its just the bit that goes under the radio behind the dash.
Please help oh & please dont tell me I have to remove the dash
Thanks in advance
Andy

Andy,
You have to remove the center console glovebox piece to remove the center carpet. The center carpet piece is shaped like a Y and goes behind each seat a few inches. I have a photo somewhere I'll post for you. THis is probably more work than you anticipated, but its the only way to remove the carpet cleanly I believe.
Regards,
James

yes you have to remove the dash. to remove the dash you have to also take off the steering wheel and drop the steering column. there are 2 bolts in the carpet infront of the airbag sensor.
what you should do is just cut the carpet with a knife infront of the airbag sensor (That little grey box under the radio). on each side infront of it the carpet gets about an inch wide for a couple of inches. just cut it there and take out the carpet. you'll never see the carpet up under it because its covered by all the plastic. you can tug on it really hard to rip it out of the 2 bolts holding it in if you want to just get it out of there and throw it away.
if you really really wanna remove the dash I can provide the instructions on how to remove the dash.

Thanks guys,
I thought I'd have to take the dash off so I'm gonna do what you said squeezer & just cut the carpet at either side of the dash behind the knee rests, because like you said no-one would be able to see it.
Thanks
Andy
