Lighten up any of the spinning mass such as the pullies. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=141549

You can lighten stuff all you like. It's not going to spin any faster safely unless you address the issue of valve float. Oh, and you gotta change the rev limiter.

I think JL9000 may be right. I suspect that S2000_Europe may have chosen different words than we commonly use. Instead of asking "how to make our engine revs faster?", he should have asked, "how can we increase acceleration?"

The obvious answers are to reduce rotational mass (as previously mentioned), reduce vehicle weight, increase torque (literally dozens of ways), minimize friction in moving parts, reduce wind resistance, and shift higher in the torque curve.

Most techniques for increasing acceleration fit in one of these categories, although I probably missed a few.

Xviper was addressing a different question. AFAIK, nobody makes underdrive crank pulleys because they aren't good for the crank bearings, and there is a small market. There is probably also less to be gained from them since we have electronic power steering. I would like to see an oversized water pump pulley...
