actually i don't really understand all this striker things...

I had a softtop, bought a hardtop and ordered parts at hardtopguy.
He sent me my parts, including new strikers. But they look, if I recall right, different from the new ones Hankooks2k is posting here...

I'm still not so happy with the tension of the hardtop on the car, but my softop closes much better since the new strikers (i don't change strikers using hardtop/softop, is that wrong?)... what would be the best way to adjust the tension of the hardtop? Can I adjust the hooks on the hardtop itself?

ok for some reason i dont know why but everyone is getting confused.

I HAVE A MY01 WITH A SOFT TOP. my SOFT TOP was getting loud because the tension against the windshield was very loose. So i took the factory softtop strikers off and replaced with new Hardtop strikers. It helped TREMENDOUSLY.

If your getting a hardtop you should already be receiving the new strikers that i received along with it to keep the tension on the hardtop nice and tight against the windshield.

graphtuner - are the strikers that you received with your new hardtop thicker than your soft top strikers?

trivium - if your getting a lot of wind noise then this is very worthwhile to do, a good 60 dollars spent, the ride is so much quieter now. the thicker strikers bring the softtop very tight against the windshield.

let's say I didn't really noticed a big difference in the thickness when I installed them... if they were as different as yours on the picture, I would have noticed I guess...

I just added a HT a couple of months ago and didn't notice any new strickers in the crate. Is it possible that I threw these away with the box?
I have no problems with the stock strickers on my very new ('06) but want to ask- Are these strikers the same as the ones that came with the car?

People say they are the same from 04+, but mine were not the same??? My top rattled very bad when I first installed it . I replaced the strikers and the problem got a lot better. I also ended up replacing the latches and now it is very tight (no rattle/squeaks or other annoying sounds)

^ I would put Shin Itsu (maybe spelled wrong) grease on it the moldings on the HT. that worked on my car (when it dries out just re-apply it )

The latches helped me eliminate the noises from the front of the HT
