How tight is your hood?

I was cleaning some crap off of the hood last night and noticed that my hood 'moves' a little if you press on the very bottom by the latch.
The car is new, the hood sits flush, and I tried closing it again by dropping it from a foot up.
I'm sure its closed properly and it doesnt move under acceleration or high speeds. I was thinking this might be normal, and attributable to the aluminum hood.
Is anyone else's car like this?

No, mine is perfectly tight. You might need to adjust your hood "stops". There's one on each side that has a thread. Try raising the stops 1 turn at a time (turn both at once). You are probably latched but the "pop-up" spring is holding your hood slightly above the stops. When adjusted correctly, the hood should rest on and be in contact with the stops on both sides.
Hood stops are a good idea, I have to occasionally adjust them to make the hood fit perectly...I think there are actually 2 on each side, 2 front ones and two close to the front window, where the hood hooks on to the body...you may need to mess with these to get a really tight fit

Just checked my oil before I filled up the car with gas.
Dropped the hood lower than I usually do, and it closed tight. Maybe I was dropping it too high. Go figure. Still getting used to the car myself. I only have 1300 miles on it.
Just conditioned the seats though. Boy they needed it, soaked the stuff up like crazy.
Thanks for all the replies guys!

2001 S2K manual says to drop it from a foot high. If you press on it you run a high risk of denting it, especially since its aluminum.
Someone dented the hood on my Civic this way, and that hood was steel!

just checked the book, you are right..drop from a ft. seems crazy and makes an awful clank. I have been closing it and pressing on the hood for 2 years with no damage, but I may try the manuals suggestion..
I press on mine with 2 hands to close it. It doesn't even feel close to bending - I think you'd have to be incompetant to do that. I can't bear the noise of dropping it. Sounds like I'm hurting something.
