Default how to undo axle nut?

hey guys, Im trying to undo the rear axle nuts to change a wheel bearing and swap cv cups.
ive beat out the pressed section of the nut so it is free to turn. but the nut is way to tight to loosen.

Ive tried a rattle gun, and using a 1m breaker bar, I even put my trolley jack under the breaker bar handle and the breaker bar bent without releasing the nut

any tips to get the nuts off?

I guess I try a power bar next?

may sound obvious but did you unstake the nut before trying to remove it, if you did then you'll just need a high torque impact wrench.

spraying the nut with liquid wrench or wd40 should also help loosen it.

Using liquid makes a mess. I usually use a jack stand with a 1/2inch drive breaker bar and an extension to bring the pivot point of the breaker bar away from the car and wheel to reduce the chance of damaging anything if I slip off. I then use the handle of my jack to extend the breaker by, a total of 3-4 feet of leverage.

Good luck. Also note that the axle nuts have revised torque specs to rid of the "clicking" that happens on early AP1 cars. Use the torque spec from the latest S2000 model year.

a blow torch will help greatly. if you have one handy and know how to use it properly.

I have not seen much of an issue with a good air impact wrench at pressure. On my car my IR wrench at 100psi banged at it for 10 or 15 seconds before spinning it off. (BTW, not all impact wrenches are equal... some make a lot of noise without applying real high torque impacts).

WOuld you happen to know what that revised torque spec is? I was under the impression it was around 185? or is it much higher now?
