Default HP on MUGEN?

Man, am I confused! Im interested in the Mugen exhaust but now i have different opinions. I have been sending PM's to people with the Mugen exhaust asking about their experiences. Some people say it adds 5-10 HP, some people say it adds 0 HP. I have seen on the King motorsports site the dyno sheet but it is with both the exhaust and the headers. I know it is about 25 lbs. lighter but does it add any Horsepower????

Depends on how your car is tuned. If it's well tuned then you'll probably gain around 5-10 hp as you mentionned. Are you combining it with a i/h/e?

On a day I dyno'd a Mugen cat-back and K&N air filter-equipped S2000 made 4 more horsepower than a stock S2000. No exhaust is going to add huge power on the S2000, and some even manage to lose power. The Mugen is the best dual exhaust available, and the only one that adds any semblance of performance to the car without being obnoxiously loud.

wow, then the amount of $ that exhuast isnt really worth it. I have the exhuast sitting in my room and it is a beautiful piece of workmanship! I have to decide if im going to keep it or not.

Does anyone know if the exhaust voids warrany?

Exhaust alone does not give HP claimed! That being said............when combined with the headers it does "free up" more HP than the stock exhaust.

Exhaust does not void warrantee!!!!!! Except for the muffler itself that you just replace.

It gives you HP/lb. Something you should worry about. It also lowers your CdA which is another thing you should worry about.

As many people have said, with the S2000 you are well past the knee point on the bang for the buck curve. If you want to improve on something pretty good you usually have to spend a lot of money (unless you go FI, which many people do not want to do).

You know one thing to consider is that you will only know how much more power the exhaust/header is making if you run a baseline dyno test on your car before all of your mods are done. It's hard to compare two different S2k's since everyone's engines seem to vary.... JZR said above that his only made 4hp more than a stock S2k, but who knows what his baseline numbers looked like in comparison. Catching my drift? I've been adding pieces to the puzzle slowly and honestly I would say that one piece alone wont do crap... I did the exhaust/header first with no real noticeable gains. Then I added an intake, hated the ricey sound and switched to a good foam, and later added the hondata phenolic spacer and now the VAFC... With everything else done now my car to me is much stronger all the way to redline and the engine runs silky smooth.

That's just my 2 cents in there... I dont think any exhaust alone will make a great difference, so if you like the way the Mugen looks keep it. Believe me... When you put the top down it sounds like ecstacy for real.
