Default Hydrolocked Last Night

Sad that this is my first post... Been on the forums since 2005 when I first got the car under the name MuGeN_s2k but it was deleted when I was selling the car. Long story short I decieded the s2k and I are going to ride till death do us part. Moving on to the sad part....

Last night the GF borrowed the car to go get her hair done. Just happens last night all the roads were flooded like a tsunami came thru and the rain was relentless. I get a phone call from her about 8:30pm histerical could bearly understand her. Tried to calm her down, the whole time all I hear is your car is flooded your car is flooded thinking she crashed into a lake or canal. What basically happen was the road was pretty much curb high in water. She slowed down to turn around but it was to late, the engine stalled and she was stuck in the middle of the road. Nobody would help her push the car to the side just basically drived by and sprayed her. Finally about 5min before I got there 2 guys pulled over and pushed my car up into a vacant parking lot and waited with her till I got there. For those of you who live in South Florida it happen off Sunrise blvd and Andrews ave, not the greatest neighborhood by far. So anyways I get there make sure shes ok, shes soaked head to toe freezing good thing I had a towel and heated seat waiting for her. Now the check up on my other baby is much worst. I pulled off the intake tube and felt water everywhere I immedetly call AAA and have it towed to the house. So today I decide to go work on it a bit before it started to poor again. I pulled the oil plug and a little bit of water came out then came all the oil . Then I pulled the oil filter off. Then off came the throttle body not so good there was some water in the intake manifold, dryed it up with a cloth. I let the oil drain for a good 30min while pouring Mobil1 in it and let it run through. I couldnt pull the plugs yet because the rain was just none stop. I know Im most likely screwed but we will find out tomorrow when I get to finish the job and my fathers warehouse..... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

P.S I have the MG Racing Intake, it collects air right under the car. In this case it collected water

sucks to hear man. glad the lady friend is ok. It is kind of surprising people don't stop and help out people more often. Up here it isn't long before someone stops in such a situation, especially if its a woman. Good luck with everything and hopefully you can get your car fixed soon.

do not try to restart the car. pull the plugs and then crank the car over, that should get the water out of the cylinders.

I think you may be okay. Doesn't sound like there is too much water so lets just hope for the best

Really sorry to hear.

Well, the internals were never designed to get this much water, but there's nothing in the OEM intake tract that prevents humidity from entering. So I'm thinking, you really gotta act on getting the water out, if even a drop of it sits on a crank journal, you'll lose the crank. Drain oil, put new in, dry-crank, then flush oil out again, then fill up again, maybe dry-crank again, to cycle fresh, water-free oil though the system, including head.

when I pull the plugs should I also pull the fuel pump fuse? also I purchased some new spark plugs along with 10qts of mobil1 and some lucas full synthic engine oil stabilizer( advanced auto parts hooked it up) I already have a compression tester just have to wait till the am.... Really sucks not having a garage.
