Smile I hate my clutch.

I just put in my Exedy clutch/flywheel (6 puck). Not sure of the part number, but I think it is the only one they offer for the s2000. I have about 100 miles on it now, and I am almost ready to take it out and put a stock one back in. This thing chatters horribly, makes a terrible racket on decelleration that almost sounds like exhaust but it goes away when you press the clutch pedal, and the clutch pedal is now extremely stiff. All that and it was expensive too!

Does anyone else use this clutch and have similar experiences? The owner of the shop I bought it from has the same clutch in his MY02 and he says it doesn't do anything like this, but he may have just wanted my money... By the way, the clutch wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be to replace, got it done in about 3 hours.

Did you install it yourself? I thought it was stupid that the throwout bearing didn't fit in the pressure plate. I had to press it in to get the clutch installed.

I haven't used it, but if you expected a 6-puck racing clutch to be as smooth/soft as your street clutch, I'm not surprised that you're disappointed.

I take it you listened to all those people who claimed they thought the Exedy was great and they loved it? Where are those people now?

I have always warned against Exedy.

Hardtopguy.com is the spot to get a nice complete performance kit.

Well, sorry to hear your opinion ...
Otherhow, I have also 6 wing cluth kit & new harder pressure plate, with Comptech flywheel.
OT
My friend take out gearbox, change that kit in and installet gearbox also back.
It takes only about 5 hours.

My first feeling's about my new kit was, well this take so much faster revs than before, waaaaw , but it feels a little bit too "difficult"...
Now after 10 000km the feeling's about my clutch kit is much better and I like it much...It is much smoother than what it was when the kit was new one.
Well hope so you get also later better feeling's about your clutch ..

The guy I bought it from left out the six puck design part. Oh well, I will just have to wait until spring and replace it.
