I have found the Honda MTF specification...Nedd Aussie/Brit Help!
I will check here to if we have the oil here. We get stuff from like all over the world here, so maybe i can find something, cause I need to change my tranny oil too. Still looking for info for what will be the best one. Here the climate never gets colder then 28C on sunny days or 25 on rainy days, all year sometimes it get to 36C i guess 100+ F.
I've now done around 250 miles with the Castrol SMX-S fluid in. The fluid immediately prior to that was Redline MTL. This is my second gearbox (first replaced @ 9000 miles), and has done about 44,000 miles. It's the later spec oil pickup, but aside for that it's a normal MY2001 gearbox. I should mention I've got a C's short shifter as well - which improved shift quality as well as throw. Oh, and I've replaced the nylon end of the gearlever, and the basket about 4,000 miles ago - this improved things, as with around 40,000 miles on them there was a little wear.
When cold, the SMX-S is a little notchy - slightly more notchy than the Redline MTL was. But it's a lot more even for shift effort - with the MTL, and Honda fluid 1st -> 2nd, and 3rd -> 2nd in particular used to need a little more effort. Not so with the SMX-S - everything is more even. On a longer run, after about 20 miles the SMX-S really comes into it's own. The slight notchyness disappears leaving just the slickest S2000 gearchange I've experienced. I'll be able to give another UK S2000 owner a drive shortly to get another comparison.
Right now, I'm very happy with the SMX-S

I got this response from e-mailing Caltex. I guess it would make sense to check with Texaco in the US although their website mentions nothing about this product. And as this Bruce fellow mentions Land Rovers are sold here so what are they using for manual transmission fluid?

Michael,
MTF-94 was developed by Texaco, in conjunction with Land
Rover, in England. It is the only approved manual transmission oil for Land
Rovers, and Caltex Australia imports it into Australia from our Texaco
parent in the UK. I would think that the best thing you could do would be
to approach Chevron Texaco in the USA, and enquire about purchasing through
them. Also, I imagine that Land Rover do have sales and outlets in the USA,
where the MTF-94 may also be available. The Texaco web-site is
www.texaco.com Hope this helps,
Bruce
