Default Idle Air Control valve

I took my car to the dealer today because my check engine light was on. My car showed the PO302 and PO304 codes; which mean that number 2 and number 4 cylinders are mis-firing, so they are going to replace my Idle Air Control valve. Has anybody else had to replace there Idle Air Control valve?
AND, what is a Idle Air Control valve? Where is it located? (In the intake manifold I presume) Does anybody have any information that might educate me on this? For some reason, I doubt that replacing the Idle Air Control valve is going to make my engine fire right. What are your thoughts?

I'll have to go look up the IAC valve but it is doubtful that misfires in two cylinders can be attributed to it. A bad IAC valve would normally just cause idling problems.

???????
An Idle control system malfunction should show a P0505 code. An IAC Valve circuit malfunction should show a P1519?

I'd have them check for proper torques on the spark plugs........

I'm not sure where you're at as far as mileage, but check the plug wires.
