I'm not sure that the secondary O2 has much to do with idle, air/fuel ratio, etc.... but it's worth a shot, goravens seemed to have success. I'll let you guys be the guinea pigs, haha.

I've read in a few different places on this forum that cleaning the channel going to the MAP is a fix that's often times looked over. I haven't looked at it myself, but it's said that the throttle body will need to be removed to properly access this point, so a new tb gasket will be necessary.

It makes sense though. We know that the map has a direct correlation with idle, so if the port feeding the map sensor it's information is partially clogged, it may take a few seconds for the sensor to see the actual air reading, thus causing the momentary rich condition/low idle/stumble.

pcv has been cleaned and checked...still a functional pcv

as I understand the secondary o2 sensor (cat) has no effect on a/f and that it's operation is more binary (working/not working) and will throw a code.

right now we are trying the snake oil approach (techron concentrate plus)

check this thread out https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/515...ationsolution/ it is referring to the "MAP channel cleaning" i eluded to in my previous post. i know you said that you cleaned the tb, but did you clean that port? in this particular write up, he explains a method of cleaning this passage that does not require removing the tb....makes sense to me.

this is a quote from member negcamber, the guy that did the "How To Clean IAC Valve: Pictures" writeup located in this forums stickie section. .

"You can spray the TB too...but unless you take the TB off, it won't clean the part that really needs it. On the backside of the TB there is a small passage that takes air to the MAP. That air passage can get carbon build up too. The only way to get at it is by pulling the TB off. Be prepared with either a new gasket or some gasket material to make a new one...when you pull the TB is is very hard not to mess up the gasket.

you can see it for yourself, it's post number 24, at the bottom of the first page

I'm having the same issue. My car actually dies but I'm having issues finding a good spot for idle to be decent when adjusting it. It's either to high or to low. I bought a new throttle cable and will try cleaning out the throttle body. I think the original one is getting linked up and causing the idle to get all funky when letting off because sometimes I have to push it up with my foot

My car had that same issue with the idle dropping low and then kicking back up when putting the car in neutral. I cleaned the TB, cleaned IAC, removed throttle slack, replaced spark plugs, and did a valve adjustment. Now it still has the same problem, but even when the idle kicks back up it feels sort of rough like the AC is on. I have about 75% compression in cylinder 4, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Check out my thread for idle issue. Set your tps to 5.5 percent, disconnect the battery after and let the ecu reset for about 2 minutes. Start your car and let it idles up and down for 3 minutes. Drive your car around the block so the ecu can learn what you have done to the car.

Same problem (ap2,2006) Replaced iat and map sensor and plugs. Wasn't showing any codes. So instead of vesting more money into want I thought it might be, I took it to Christian Brothers automotive to let them figure it out. Exhaust valve was the problem. They were tight. Idle so smooth with or without air conditioner being on
