So after hearing a rubbing noise from the rear, I thought it was the rotor or pad rubbing around. It ended up being the wheel bearing and I am so glad I took it off. It had a lot of wheel movement and play which I heard was a common symptom of a bad wheel bearing. So here are the pics;

Turns out the bearing was broken in two and half of it was stuck to the hub other half was still in the rear knuckle. Once I removed it all the hub just fell out. It was so easy to do the job too. It was literally like 5-bolts on each side than removing the ball joints and taking to knuckle to get the bearings/hubs pressed out and in. So FYI do you the Rear Axle Nut TSB

Seen many...yes that is a direct result of axle nut under-torque.

The bearing is not broken, just the one bearing race (the one still in the bearing) has lost its press fit to the hub.

Continuous shifting of race-to-hub galls out the metal.

Luckily I caught it before it got worse. Just got both side bearing/hub replaced now time to torque them down

I had to replace both of my rear bearings/hubs and the bearings fell apart just like yours. No big deal.

hmm it kind of sounds like what my problem is except is it possible to only make this noise when you are going very slowly and turning sharply? Logic tells me no though.. cause if it was the wheel bearing it wouldn't matter if I was turning or not if it was the rear and it would get louder as you went faster yes?

Its not much work, but it is a bid deal because the hubs and bearings need to be squared perfect than pressed in perfect with the right size die otherwise if its hammered in or pressed in uneven you'll be right back in that situation in a matter of time or miles.

Idk, my noise didn't get much louder than what the video shows. At first I thought it was the brake sticking a bit but turned out to be the bearing. Noise progressively got worse really quick

I'm at 185,000 miles and still on original wheel bearings. Loose axle nut is almost 100% cause wheel bearing failure in the s2k.

Yeah.. I can't imagine what mileage I shall get with two new bearings and hubs torqued down perfect.
