Unhappy Inaccurate Gas Guage (Billman plz help)

I have a 04 S2000 with an annoying problem. As my car has aged, the gas gauge has become increasingly inaccurate. It used to be fairly accurate ie., the gas light would come on when I was nearly dead empty. Now, the gauge is completely worthless. For example, last week my gauge indicated I was dead empty (no bars left, gas light consistently on). When I went to fill it up, the car only took 10.3 gallons! Does anyone know if there is a way to make the gas gauge more accurate?

I had a similar problem, which the Honda dealer diagnosed as an issue covered under warranty (I forget the exact cause, some part was either not sending or reading the measurement correctly).

My car is modded quite a bit, do you think that could cause problems having this covered under warranty?

If you're still covered under the factory warranty, the dealer has to prove the mod caused the failure. If you have a fuel pressure regulator, then maybe they might refuse...if you have an AEM EMS, they certainly would refuse. If you have a supercharger and suspension mods, they have to show how that would cause the problem.

If you have the extended warranty and are modded, you need to cancel the policy and get a refund for the unused portion.

Generally my '06 reads empty -- no bars -- and then my fill is no more than 11 gallons
