Default Inexpensive exhaust modification

Seeing how dual exhausts don't add any performance to the S2000, I was just thinking about doing a really inexpensive exhaust mod.

Here's a link to one of the suggested ways of going about modding my stock exhaust:

Will this affect performance in a negative way? Do you guys recommend this? All I want is a louder, deeper sound and if it doesn't do anything for gains, I'm fine with that as long as it doesn't take away.

Thanks.

My brother did that years ago on his S2K and it sounds better than any exhaust I've ever heard. He only replaced his mufflers with black Hayame cannisters, the rest of the OEM piping stayed intact. He dynoed and gained one torque

there even another more inexpensive one. someone here just cut off the mufflers, resonator, y pipe to exhaust tip. there's still a resonator so its not too loud but makes the stock louder and lighter by getting rid of the heavy canisters. forget who did it

Many people removed just the resonators. Supposed to sound real nice. Not sure of any gains though.

If you go with a custom setup then you should be able to put your stock 04 tips onto the ends of the new mufflers.

You should also check out Spugen exhausts as they have oval tips, and also Supersprint has oval tips.

Earlier this month I had a exhuast shop install 2 Magnaflow 14814 mufflers to most of my OEM exhaust system.

The factory system was cut right before the Y and a new Y was made with 2.5 inch stainless to the new mufflers.

Minimal drone and noise, deeper tone. I like it!
