I've been finding broken engine mounts on cars that the owner did not know they were broke.
Using a 4 foot bar, I lift on each front corner of the engine by prying over the top shock tower bolts. You can lift the engine up and down about 1.5 inches, and feel/see the broken mounts.
I've seen 4 or more large left leaking dif mounts. Never a large right.

engine and diff mounts are fluid filled. the trans mounts seem to be solid rubber. here some great prices on motor and trans mount.

I changed my s2k motor mounts around 130-140k miles and both were broken. I would say the easiest way to change them out is to support the engine by the oil pan area and remove the brackets that bolt to the engine along with engine mounts. Reason I say this is because it's kinda hard to get to the top engine mount bolt. With the brackets removed, you won't have that issue.
