remove the fan, and you have to cut a liittle bit of the plastic by the wheel. take off the under tray where the injen intake ends up and install the filter from under the car.

so i guess i have to keep the under tray off or is it supposed to go back on once i have it installed (not sure about the depth of the intake, that's why i'm asking.... ) also, which part do i have to cut and is it a plastic piece or something else? should i cut it where it is or take it out first?

thanks for all your help! man, i was frustrated and ended up putting everything back!!! hopefully, i can do it tomorrow if i can!!! thanks!!! anything else that might help???

any pics?? i'd like to see how it's done and what portion is cut...and actually, how much is needed to be cut!!!!

You posted to remove then fan on the AEM install also. Have you ever installed a CAI on the S2000?

I have to go with Utah on this, why the hell would you need to remove the fan?

I've got to vote to remove the fan, also. It's just two bolts and a clip and it give a good bit more room to work with and much easier access to the lower bushing/connection point that the AEM uses.

Why the hell you ask? It makes installation super easy. I removed both fans, 5 bolts total and two power connectors, for my Injen install.

Some people try to make work easy is another reason.

From the response it appears you need to remove the fans on an Injen install.....not so with the AEM as CHRTS has posted....

well, the fan may get in the way, i was going to do that but i still had some doubts as to whether i could get the CAI to fit. the bottom plastic piece was my real concern, now i hear about cutting something out! ughhh! ok ok, i should relax!

1. do i have to KEEP the plastic under cover off of the right side or can i replace it (enough room?) when i'm done putting the CAI in? if i have to keep it off, should i cut a hole out for it to fit with the under cover or keep it off?

2. what portion do i have to actually cut (not the under cover). anyone have any pics of this area?

AGAIN...thanks all for the support and advise!!!!! i really appreciate it all guys!!!!!!!!
