Default Install of VSA on MY05

Hello everybody,

I was just wondering if it would be possible to install the MY06 VSA system on a MY05, just for the ESP function when the girlfriend takes the car out in the rain and snow? I saw on some official Honda page that the ESP function of the VSA only uses the brakes and not the throttle. Don't know it that is the truth, but it would mean that the DBW is not necessary and the ABS-sensors we already have! Anybody? Thanks for any info, my S2000 MY05 running very strong after only 5 months and 12.500 mind blowing km's!

Bye,
Frank.

Untill a 06 hits the dealers, and the manuals become available nobody will know. The easiest conversion will always be to trade in for a 06.

Most likely the extra sensors/ecu/wiring harnesses will be cost/labor prohibitive to retro fit.

ESP does require throttle by wire. You'll need to setup the Throttle by wire system so your talking atleast:

Throttle Body
ECU
Wiring Harness

And that is if all the wheel speed sensors are the same, if they changes them youll have to get the new wheel speed sensors and harness for the rest of the car. It begs the question....why make the car slower? Send your girlfriend to a driving school that has a skid car, it will be cheaper and make her driving in the rain even safer than ESP.

Or don't let her drive it when it's crappy out.
Or buy a beater car with the money you'd spend on retrofitting ESP.

My vote goes to not letting her drive it at all

but seriously youd probably be able to get a decent beater for the amount it would probably cost to retrofit the system...

Owkei, thanks for the replies, lets indeed wait for a MY06 to hit the dealer first!
I didn't imagine it to be that expensive...
Bad luck for the girlfriend

Buy the racelogic system. It will be cheaper and better(from a performance point) than anything Honda will come out with.
