Default installing new exhaust

Just what the thread says......my new T1R sparrow should be in by Tues. I'm planning on using antiseize compound on the stud threads on the cat and prob on any exhaust bolts when putting the new exhaust on. Any reason not to? I don't want it to rattle loose, but would like to be able to remove it later if I need to.

Good idea, just in case you want something different later.

Won't the heat from the exhaust just burn away the anti-seize?

The heat from the exhaust will burn away the grease part of the compound but it leaves behind little solid particles of aluminum, silica, and graphite. That's how it works. You most definitely want to use this stuff on spark plug installations.

back when i was into DSMs (98 eclipse GSX) i remember taking apart turbo and exhaust parts and it was a nightmare... when i put my new set up on i anti seized every bolt... about a year and a half later i had to take it apart again and i was like butter taking all the bolts apart...

I love the stuff and never neglect to use it... Like i said earlier it never hurts

Exception: be careful with this stuff around 02 sensors if any of it touches the actual sensor part it will ruin it ASAP...
