Default Instrument Cluster????

I have an instrument cluster out of a 2000 s2000 that I would like to be able to display the miles on. Can anyone tell me which pins on the rear of the cluster I need to give power in order to read the mileage?

Thanks,
Matt N.

According to the diagram:
  • B5 is power (7.5A fuse)
  • B4 is ignition power (7.5A fuse)
  • B8, B9 are ground

B is the second connector from top-left, looking at the back of the unit

I could be dead wrong, but I would assume the mileage info of an S2000 would be stored in the ECU, not the instrument panel.

Hmm, interesting. Now can I just replace my instrument cluster with a new one so the mileage shows zero before I sell my car? There's gotta be more to this.

I don't have the service manual handy, but I don't recall seeing anything about resetting the mileage counter.

The milage is stored in an EEPROM inside the Instrument Cluster. I know of companies that make software to recalibrate the odometers of european cars, but none for Jap cars. The software costs well into the thousands of dollars anyway.
