Default intake squeek

around 20-30% throttle between 2-5k the intake sounds like a belt slipping. very annoying. car had the intake on when I bought the car. anyone know what would cause this?

yeah i get this esp. on the highway. i have a spoon snorkel with stock intake box with K&N filter and i have the resonator on the airbox plugged up. it's not really that loud for me. i'm sorry i don't know how to fix this. i just try to stay a lil faster in the RPMs so it doesn't do it. mine starts around 55MPH in 6th gear. so i just go a lil faster. i just barely have to touch the pedal to do it.

There really is no fix for it. It is inherent to the throttle body design and seems to be magnified by anything other than the OEM airbox setup.

Think of it as a mini-turbo sound!!!

No, the stock airbox seems tuned to reduce the sound while aftermarket intakes aren't so the sound is more prevelant. It is always there, just if you can hear it or not.

I have "crickets" in my CAI under moderate acceleration. It doesn't really bother me much but then again I have so many other creaks, rattles, exhaust sounds that I just tune them out.

Most of us refer to them as "hampsters"

But seriously (for the previous posts), you can maintain the sound at about 1/3 throttle at will. Any more or less and the acoustics change in the throttle body.
