I have just run across a post about the rev hard turbo kit coming out for the s2000. The placement of the intercooler made me wonder. Would this be an ideal place for an intercooler? So far there are only two kits available and both are front mounted intercoolers which sit in front of the radiator. Since it is sitting so far out would it adversely affect the handling of the car? Is the rev hard intercooler placement superior since it's resting closer to the front axles? Anyone with a Speedcraft or front mounted intercooler care to give any insight about the handling? Thanks
Are you concern about the weight distribution change because of the weight of the intercooler?
Rest assured, it will not effect handling whatsoever. I would be more concern about how effective the intercooler is placed so that it can be exposed well for maximum cooling like mine.
The best design would be to have air hit the core and core only and not giving any rooms for air to go around the core.
Yes Intercooler placement like on Randy's car is optimal. It is important to cool down the charge air on our cars since heta managment is a huge concern on high compression motors, even taking precedence over weight distribution.
And the intercooler weighs about 5lbs, so a 5lb balast hanging off the front of the car is not a big deal.
The revhard intercooler placement in my opinion is trivial
hey i too am woundering about turbo s2k's ... what exactly what if it was possible, would it take to get 14 psi of boost on a s2k.. i am seriously considering putting lots of time and money into my s2k...
