Default J's Dampner Installed with CompTech STB

I just thought I would share. I never liked the STB J's offered with their dampner. The CompTech I had was brightly polished when I got it, so I hated to lose it. He is my solution.

With the help of another board member, we modified the CompTech STB mount. This mod also went around the fuse box mounting point that you have to cut when you install either version of J's dampner.

Did you just weld an additional flap onto the comptech base? Looks good!

How great is shifting the gearbox now?

I've tried to explain how much better the shifting is with the steering damper, but there are a lot of skeptics (who haven't tried it).

It looks like you cut a hole in the OEM heat shield, and chromed/polished it (is that right)- it looks good. I had to make my own header heatshield in order to use the J's heatshield. otherwise the engine compartment temps were greatly increased.

Nice work!

Thanks Pete

Yes, I had the OEM heat shield cut and then chromed. You have a good eye for detail. I also chromed the Mugen header heat shield too. Then I had it treated with a ceramic coating to stop the heat from damaging the chrome finish.

Can you please take a close up of the connecting bracket where it's mounted near the Vtec switch? I'm working on making a custom engine damper and I'd like to see how J's mounts theirs.

Thanks -Ben
