Default J's rear spoiler

Hi there

Anyone here who have got a J's rear spoiler installed ?

Do you need to drill holes in the boot to get it installed ?

Does it give any usefull downforce under track conditions, or is it all just looks ?

I believe cjb80 has the J's rear spoiler - the big race wing, right? yes, you gotta drill into the trunklid. so mark, check, mark, check, mark again, re-check, and check again before drilling!

you will hear a whistling in the air while driving around because of the spoiler, and I'm quite sure you'll get some downforce in the rear on the track, as to how much, not sure, but I'm sure you will get some resistance pushing the rear of the car down at speed.

Hi Schatten

Thanks for the info. Well I don't want to drill holes in the trunk, so I have to live without it. But it would look great for track days, and the downforce could also be great. But I was mainly looking for something, that gets mounted for track days, and taken off for normal street use, unless you want the car to a bit rice

Sdaly J's is the only rear spoiler I liked, all the rest are just flimsy smal plastic things :-(

I love J's racing rear spoiler since it has
a use (it's adjustable), unlike those ricers with
huge unadjustable wings.

I wish I could remember which wing it was, but one of the folks we met in Japan had a removeable rear wing - it mounted on brackets, but I can't remember exactly where they went. Unfortunately with Photopoint gone and I'm not sure where I stashed the original pics, I can't show it to you. I'll keep an eye out.

I think I measured and marked about 8 times before I finally drilled, and when I heard the bit bite into the lid a shiver went down my spine.
Mine's not a J's but it is adjustable and the downforce does help at speed.
I checked before I got the wing and a new trunklid is about $360 plus paint, so it's not TOO terribly expensive if you want to change back.

Thanks, I'll pass on that ... I like the one from Amuse or something, which replaces the stock spoiler without the need to even drill. Slightly more visual but not that intense.
